This is me a week before polio came visiting in September, 1948.

The shadow in the picture (besides my own) is my mother who took the picture.

What's it like for a child to experience polio? I have no memories of the illness, only of one or two scenes from the hospitals. But as an experiment for a Bible study, I wrote a "lament" from the point of view of a child. You can read it here (PDF).
